Fort Ord Spring Wildflower Hike with Andy Werner
April 24, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
Come and do a wondrous ±6 mile wildflower hike with little elevation gain led by Andy Werner in search of lovely spring flowers. Andy will do a scouting outing before our hike to find the best flowers—Fort Ord can have amazing flower displays. Meet by 9:30am at the Creekside parking lot on Fort Ord National Monument. From Highway 68, take the Reservation Road exit and head towards Marina on Reservation Road. After a very short distance, turn left onto Portola Drive and follow the BLM signs to the parking lot. Bring lunch and water.
This is a CALIFORNIA NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY field trip. Please don’t sign-up unless you love botany and nature. With a few exceptions, CNPS field trips are nature hikes, not a ‘get your heart rate up’ hike.
Many of our field trips have a waitlist, therefore, you may be blocked from future CNPS hikes if you are a no-show.
Be sure to check your email just before the outing as occasionally an outing must be cancelled at the last minute. Also, if you are on the wait list, sometimes participants cancel the day before, moving you from the WAITLIST to GOING.
