Volunteer at Amgen Bike Race in Morgan Hill

Exciting news for Morgan Hill. We will host the Amgen bike tour of California on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Volunteers are needed. Please read the information pulled from their website and the note from the volunteer coordinator too.

Amgen Tour of California is an annual professional cycling event that is the only men’s cycling event in the U.S. on the UCI WorldTour calendar and attracts some of the most renowned cyclists and teams in the world. The seven-day Men’s stage race will begin the 2018 race in Long Beach and conclude in Sacramento, covering more than 600 miles, this will be the third time in the event’s 13 year history that the peloton will travel from south to north in the Golden State. #AMGENTOC | @AMGENTOC | @AMGENTOC

Amgen Tour of California Women’s Race empowered with SRAM is a UCI WorldTour race that will span over three days and will travel from Elk Grove to South Lake Tahoe & Sacramento in 2018. Providing an international platform for women’s racing, the Amgen Tour of California Women’s Race attracts the world’s top female cyclists and teams in the world.


The Amgen Tour of California and the Amgen Tour of California Women’s Race empowered with SRAM are Tour de France-style cycling road races created and presented by AEG. Running concurrently, the races challenges the world’s top professional cycling teams to compete along demanding courses that traverses hundreds of miles of California’s iconic highways, byways and coastlines each spring. The teams chosen to participate have included Olympic medalists, Tour de France contenders and World Champions, and award important, world-ranking points to the top finishers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Stage 4 on Wednesday, May 16 where San Jose/ Morgan Hill will play host to the individual time trial. All volunteers will need to formally sign up through the Amgen Tour of California website. Here is the link to register:

We will be holding a volunteer orientation/ training in Morgan Hill in late April/early May.

The volunteer registration form is for both Men’s and Women’s events.

Please fill out the form to register to be a 2018 Course Marshal.

Course Marshal Description:
Assigned a designated area along the race course to assist with the coordination and safety of the field of play for all race venues; keep the course clear of pedestrians, spectators, cars, etc: keep spectators informed.
