Winter at Coe – easy hike
February 17, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Description: Please join me for an easy hike along Corral, Springs and Forest trails. We will hike at easy pace, with occasional stops to look and trees, plants, animals – whatever catch our attention.
Winter is a great season to hike at Henry Coe State Park!
Rain or shine!
The hike: 3.8 miles, fairly level (cumulative elevation gain/loss 400 feet).
Duration: 2 1/2 – 3 hours.
Cautions: The Meetup trip leaders and guides are volunteers willing to share their experience in a social hiking environment. Hiking risks include ticks, poison oak, rattlesnakes and uneven trail surfaces. Each participant is responsible for evaluating their own hiking skills and stamina to determine if this hike is suitable for them to participate.
What to bring: Clothes appropriate for weather (wind/rain are possible). If it rains, I find an umbrella to be really handy.
Wear comfortable footwear. Expect muddy trail at places.
I plan to have lunch when we return, at one of the picnic areas by the visitor center or under the roof of the shed if it rains. Bring your lunch if you would like to join me.
Driving Directions: Meet at the park Headquarters, in front of visitor center. For full directions please visit: http://www.coepark.net
Day Use Fee: $8.00 ($7.00 seniors) per vehicle.
Dogs: sorry, only service dogs are allowed in the state parks.
