Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training
October 9, 7:00 pm - November 23, 1:00 pm
Following a large scale disaster, you will need to be self-sufficient for a minimum of 3 days. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will teach you to better prepare, respond, and recover from fires, floods, earthquakes, and other local disasters we cannot predict.
The CERT curriculum includes emergency preparedness best practices and hands on experience in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, disaster psychology, and disaster medical operations.
CERT Basic Training is free to South Santa Clara County residents. High School students are also welcome to attend and may receive community service hours.
This fall 2019 opportunity takes place on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:30 p.m. at the Morgan Hill Police Department. The first day of class is Wednesday, October 9th where the last day of class students practice their skills at a disaster simulation and celebrate their graduation on Saturday, November 23rd.
