Easy 4-mile hike & explore, Hunting Hollow Gilroy
February 17, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join Coe Volunteers for a sunny mid-day excursion along Hunting Hollow creek. Bring along a lightweight camp chair to hang out at Fish Pond and Coon Hunters Gulch. Back to cars at 2:00pm.
Our path is relatively flat, following an old ranch road. We’ll walk briskly in and out, so we can enjoy about 45 minutes for each of our side excursions. At these stops you can listen and watch for wildlife, and/or take macro photographs, make sketches, paint watercolors.
What to bring: Hat, sunscreen, water, sturdy shoes, dress in layers, lunch/snacks. Lightweight camp chair, camera, sketch pad, binoculars.
Meet at the Hunting Hollow entrance by the covered picnic table and bulletin board. For driving directions: please visit …
Day use fee: Hunting Hollow is $6.00 per vehicle, $5 seniors. It’s self-register so bring EXACT CHANGE (paper bills) for the iron ranger envelopes. The following State Park passes are also accepted, Golden Bear, Limited Use Golden Bear, Poppy Pass, and California Explorer Annual Pass.
Dogs: Sorry, only service dogs are allowed in Hunting Hollow.
Cautions: The Meetup trip leaders and guides are volunteers willing to share their experience in a social hiking environment. Hiking risks include ticks, poison oak, and uneven trail surfaces. Each participant is responsible for evaluating their own hiking skills and stamina to determine if this hike is suitable for them to participate.
