Rocky Ridge View Loop Hike (Las Trampas)

In the East Bay Regional Parks, the Las Trampas Regional Wilderness Area with 5,342 acres of wilderness. The dominant trees are coast live oak and bay laurel. Half a dozen fern species are found in the park and there are large areas of grassland. At the top, you will see beautiful panoramic views of the East Bay, Ygnacio, San Ramon and Amador valleys, Mt. Diablo, and Carquinez Straits.

Information: Toilet and water at Trailhead, No fee for Leashed Dogs, Bring snacks or Lunch we will stop around mid point for a break. Water at least 2 liters. Park closes gate at 7pm

Meeting Point / Trailhead: Will meet at Bollinger Staging Area, 18012 Bollinger Canyon Road, San Ramon, CA 94583. Take Crow Canyon Road then continue on Bollinger Canyon Road (north). Enter the Park, park Bollinger Staging Area, Meet at 11:15am.

Hike Route: Starting point, Bollinger Staging Area, Left on Elderberry Trail, At trail marker Right uphill on Elderberry Trail (steep at points), then At trail marker Right Elderberry Trail on single track trail through woods, then at fire road Right on Rocky Ridge View Trail (Road), Left up Rocky Ridge Loop Trail, stop at the peak, then continue Right Rocky Ridge Loop Trail, continue Right down Ridge View Trail, and return back to Bollinger Creek Staging Area, Trailhead at approximately 4:00pm.
From I-580 in Castro Valley, take Crow Canyon Road north to Bollinger Canyon Road. Turn left (north) onto Bollinger Canyon Road and follow it into the park. From I-680 in San Ramon, take Crow Canyon Road west to Bollinger Canyon Road, turn right (north) and follow it into the park.
