Summer fun

With less than a month before school begins, there is still time to eke out some fun in the last days of summer.
There are still many activities available throughout the area to keep the kids entertained and out of the house.
Bring a picnic and organize a family day—spend it roaming the property of Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville. This U-Pick family ranch is open every day of the week and offers self-guided walk-throughs amongst the apple orchards and berry farms.
The San Benito Arts Council continues to offer its Arts in Education Program through the season. The program provides classes in various areas including music, storytelling, dance and theatre all the way to more modern arts in multimedia.
Its new and refurbished craft room, known as ArtSpace is located in downtown Hollister and embraces the youth of all ages.
For some of the older kids ages 10 and up who may not be moved by arts and crafts, they might have more fun donning a mask and tactical gear in the paintball arena at Tag Paintball also in Hollister.
Beginners are separated from the more experienced players on one of 10 fields providing a fair battleground for anyone willing to leave with a few bruises.
Open weekends, Tag Paintball makes for a memorable way to spend the afternoon.
Wrap up summer with some crafting or stretch those legs for some outdoor fun in the sun.
