Gilroy Garlic Festival 2019 wine garden

Get ready for garlic, wine and country music as the 41st annual Garlic Festival returns with Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat and her new Nashville band, Gone West. Cook-offs helmed by celebrity chefs Tom Colicchio (Top Chef judge) and Gerron Hurt (MasterChef winner), a Garlic Showdown with Chef La Motte of Cordevalle, the Gilroy Garli-Que BBQ Challenge, plus your favorite stinking rose treats from Gourmet Alley await.

Attendees can sip this year’s signature cocktail, Whiskey Daisy, at one of the cocktail stands, or grab a glass of local wine. This year’s al fresco Wine Garden, sponsored by Gilroy Rotary, offers sips from the following wineries: Calerrain, Creekview, Fortino, Guglielmo, Hecker Pass, Kirigin Cellars, Martin Ranch, Medeiros Family, Miramar, Morgan Hill Cellars, Sarah’s Vineyard, Satori, Solis, Stefania, The Stomping Ground (Alara and Jason Stephens) and WildEye.

Attendees can purchase wines by the glass ($9 for six ounces) or purchase tickets for single six-ounce pours or three two-ounce tastes.

Jane Howard, executive director of Visit Gilroy and the California Welcome Center Gilroy, said the wine garden is one of Gilroy Rotary’s top two fundraisers annually, and serves wine all three days beginning at 10am. Pouring will be extended to 7pm on Saturday evening for the Colbie Caillat concert, which begins at 6pm.  A special wine-tasting guide is being created by Articulate Solutions and Visit Gilroy for visitors to the wine garden to use in making decisions about wines to taste.
