What led to your Real Estate Career?

My father was a licensed Realtor and encouraged his three children to do the same right out of high school—believing it would be a great side job or backup. Now, my two brothers and I have successful careers in this wonderful line of work. I started my career in 1980 as an escrow officer and obtained my real estate license in 1981. I now hold a broker’s license and have been in the business for 36 years, and have loved every minute of it.

What do you enjoy most about being a Realtor?

Having the opportunity to meet new people every day. There is nothing like helping clients that thought they would never be able to own a home and see the glow on their faces when I hand them the keys. I have a passion for working with sellers to stage and prepare their home to gain the highest possible price. I also enjoy learning more about buyers’ dreams and needs while finding them the right home.

What was your most interesting sale in the past 12 months?

All of my sales are rewarding; although, my most recent was with a young veteran buyer and his new bride who were purchasing their first home in Santa Cruz. I was very excited to discover a Realtor Association program for first-time homebuyers. The program paid $2,500 of their homeowner’s dues. Well deserved!

What was the most unusual transaction?

The most unusual transactions are those with sellers I have never met in person. Through building a rapport and gaining their confidence over the phone, we always end up with a successful closing. My goal is to provide quality customer service while meeting each seller’s and buyer’s individual real estate needs. Whether it’s face-to-face or an off-site transaction, I get the job done.

What makes you a Good Agent?

With over 36 years as a Realtor, my philosophy is that proper up-front planning combined with continuous and constant communication are the keys when working with clients. I believe in answering phone calls and responding to texts and emails immediately. I do my best to be available for my clients for their questions and concerns. It is my goal to make sure each client feels like they are my one and only client.

What areas do you concentrate in?

I work with people in San Benito, Santa Clara, Merced, Santa Cruz and Monterey counties; with special emphasis in Hollister, Gilroy and Morgan Hill.
